Sound familiar?

With some contractors, building projects can go sideways long before the first post goes in the ground.

It's hard to get a straight answer on price.

"It depends" is a fair answer, but it isn't a useful one. Without knowing what actually drives the number, it's tough to tell a good estimate from a bad one.

You're not sure what you actually need.

Forty by sixty or thirty by forty? Insulated or not? What about the site — does it need leveled first? It's hard to ask for an estimate on something you can't quite picture.

The unknowns are the stressful part.

When will it start? How long will it take? Who do you call if something comes up halfway through?

We operate on trust, from the first visit to the final walkthrough.

We understand that a new building is a big investment. We want you to be comfortable with working with us. That's why we'll walk your site, answer whatever you want to ask, and give you a real estimate you can consider. You won't find any pushy sales people here.

The Cole Advantage

What working with us actually gets you

You'll know what you're getting before we start.

We come out, walk your site, and design around how you'll actually use the building — even if you're not sure what you want yet. That's the part most builders skip.

You'll spend less than stick or steel frame.

Post-frame needs no concrete foundation and fewer materials overall. Less material, less labor, and a faster build — without giving up strength.

You'll talk to the people building it.

We're family-owned. Travis has 25+ years in the trade and is on your project, not behind a sales desk. You get his cell number, not a call center.

You'll have a building that outlasts you.

Heavy-duty posts, long-span trusses, and metal roofing, built for Pennsylvania snow and wind. Material warranties come from the manufacturer and run up to 40 years depending on the product. We warranty our own workmanship for a year on top of that.

What yours could look like

Every building on this page started with a problem and an idea. Someone needed more storage, or a dry place to keep equipment, or a barn for the horses. We've built pole barns, garages, shops, riding arenas, run-in barns, hay storage and hobby shops — and the occasional home or office.

  • Post-frame garage with tan siding, a charcoal standing-seam metal roof, and two white overhead doors beside a white entry door
  • White post-frame garage with black wood-grain overhead doors and a white entry door, on a gravel drive with a barn behind
  • Bright red open-front pavilion with a green metal roof, white trim, and exposed wooden posts and trusses across the open side
  • Red gambrel-roof barn with a charcoal metal roof, white trim, and two sets of white cross-buck sliding doors, standing on a mown lawn
  • Tan post-frame horse barn with brown wainscot and a bronze metal roof, a white cupola with a horse weathervane, an arched gable window, and X-braced stall doors under a side overhang
  • A small gray post-frame storage building with a charcoal roof and a barn quilt on the gable, seen across a wildflower meadow

How it works

Three steps, and we're with you for all of them

  1. Discovery, estimate & design

Call us or send a few details. We come out, walk your site, and talk through what you're picturing. Then you get a free estimate with no obligation, and a plan with your size, layout, doors, and colors. We'll also tell you what you need to handle, like the permit and site leveling.

  2. We build it

You'll know your schedule before we start. Our crew erects the building and we keep you posted the whole way through. When it's done we walk it with you and show you how to care for it.

  3. Enjoy your new building

Park the tractor inside. Move the horses in. Finally get the shop you've been putting off for six years. That's the part we're actually building for.

Travis was very easy to work with in the beginning getting everything set up and ready for construction. Throughout the construction of our pole building Travis was always available for questions or concerns and made the entire journey from start to finish very easy and streamlined. Would definitely recommend Cole Buildings for your next project and we will absolutely be calling them again for future projects.

Pole building construction

Cole built a 30' x 40' pole building for me and from start to finish had it done in four days. I am very satisfied and would recommend Travis and his crew to anyone.

Part of the challenge of going forward with a project is choosing a contractor. We are so pleased with the job Cole did to our barn. The project was done on a timely basis. The Cole crew displayed high quality workmanship, respected our property and did a phenomenal job of cleanup! You will be pleased with the results!

From the owner

We're here to serve you, not sell you.

Hi. I'm Travis, and Cole Building & Design is my family's company.

I've spent over 25 years in construction, and the last decade of it building post-frame. I know it can be hard to choose a contractor — you're handing someone a lot of money for something you can't see yet, and you're mostly going on a gut feeling about whether they'll do right by you.

So we try to make it easy. We'll come out and look at your site. We'll tell you honestly what we'd do and what it'll cost. If we're not the right fit for your project, we'll tell you that too.

Photos only tell you so much. This is one of ours from above — the site, the approach, the way it sits on the property. It's the closest thing to standing there without driving out.
